Always back to Spyderco

Just done the same myself recently. Other knives feel sexier in the shop or look sexier on the screen, but when I pick up my Millie and actually use it, it leaves the rest for dead.

I would, but I need M2 in my blades the way that Christopher Walken needs cowbell in his music.

ROFLMAO!!! That's one of the funniest things I've read in a while, ty.

After EDC'ing my SS Dragonfly with its slim hand fitting handle, with the power-enhancing thumb rest and confidence inspiring finger choil and unobtrusive, elegant finger hole, every folder I've held just hasn't live up to the standards of the 'fly.

At the BAKCA knife show, the Sebenza's were cool, but the sharp thumb stud seemed like a "hack" on an otherwise thorough design. The Lochsa (which I'd also been looking forward to seeing) was also nice, but I missed the elegant blade+handle finger choil of the 'fly. Sigh. :(

Even the beautiful Mnandi I had been lusting after for 6 months and actually purchased (after rejecting the WH because of the thumbstud) feels like a nice pen in my hands, but doesn't feel like an effective knife. :(

Damn you Spyderco! Now I can only enjoy Spydercos. All other knives are as blocks of rough hewn stone in my hand. Sigh, I'm waiting patiently for the Calypso Jr., Paramilitary and Yojimbo. Hopefully the Native and perhaps the Millie will tide me over...

Dylan_D,

No, thank you for that cool avatar you have. My wife loves the nervous twitch it has. It always cracks her up.

I have tried several different manufacturers and I always end up coming back to Spyderco. I have yet to find a knife that is a better EDC than my Military. Spyderco seems to have the most functional designs and has a high commitment to good QC. My non-Spyderco knives don't see much use, they just don't have the appeal or usefulness of my Spydercos.

Funny I just was thinking about that. I picked up CRKT M16 and liked it a lot but put the Endura back in my pocket. Can't find any knife nicer then the Meercat se just works and holds a great edge. I did buy a S&W tactical just for a change but Spyderco feels good.

i'm a big fan of the idea that a blade needs to be long enough to do the job it's intended for, and nothing more. a lot of people don't dig spyderco knives because of the smaller blades many carry. in my opinion, it is sheer form-follows-function-philosophy, and i promote the company every chance i get, along with carrying regularly (i currently carry a merlin SE-cuts the heck out of anything!). i may play with other knives, but for folders, i just can't think of a good reason not to go with what i love.

brownshoe: Well at least I do have other knives. I love Camillus fixed blades, but for a student like me, Spyderco does make a heck of a knife for it's price. I know a couple of BMs I like, but they cost just as much as one of the great collaborations that Spyderco makes.
