• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

I've been turning a thick ironwood branch into 2 scales for my first knife the past few days. You know, blistering my fingers with sanding and all of that.. I wiped them off with a damp rag today to get some of this black stuff off of them (black stuff from sanding, don't know what it was exactly.. it didn't come off anyway..) and then put them in my oven at 150 for a few minutes to make sure they were still nice and dry.. I come back a bit later, open the oven, and there are two pieces of handle shaped charcoal in front of me. They were warped all over, and snapped in two like nothing. My brother had come in behind me since my last wood drying, and cooked a pizza...at 425 degrees. Oh well.. I'll call it practice, I guess.
