Always Experimenting With INFI . . . .

We have been experimenting with a new heat treating procedure for INFI that we have termed CNQ which promises to deliver a consistently higher hardness as well as, what we hope will be, a considerable increase in cutting performance on certain materials.

Of course, the incredible toughness that INFI brings to the table will be decreased, but we recognize that there are some applications where exceptional toughness is not a top priority. . . .

We will keep you updated . . .

Back to drinking. . . .

Whaaaaaaaa............??????????????

Keep 'er coming Boss Man!

Why not call it INFI Plus or INFI LITE or INFI II or INFI 2.0????
That way you retain some of the brand loyalty/branding elements of the name....
Just my Joe Schmoe knife consumer 2 cents worth...:)

so if i'm stuck in a junk yard with a bottle of viagra, and quart of virgina gentleman, i should not beat the infi?

Will definitely be a good candidate for the Busse Folder, as it will be more of a slicer rather than a chopper, since the pivot pin and lock are the weak points of a folder.

We have plenty of fixed Busse's for all the heavy abuse stuff. ;)

Impossible. INFI is an extraterrestrial alloy that came to earth on a meteorite that fell in Ohio. To alter it's molecular structure would require... alien technology!!

Sweet!

Because really, my BAD doesn't see much abuse. Just lots of slicing!

Keep us updated Boss!

really cool, man.hardness is madness, how about the hardness of New-infi? will beyond 65HRC?

Speaking for myself and perhaps others of us who are "users" Jerry that is an announcement I have long been waiting for

My three knives which I always "now" seem to use are my Basic 9 and my Nuclear TTKZ and a Phil Wilson custom 5 inch blade.

The announcement you just made could mean a clean sweep for Busse in the future

I hope there will be more than one HT process available, for different kinds of knives. Some types of knife need toughness over any other quality. At the same time, sometimes edge holding is more important. I'd hate to have to choose a 'one size fits all.'

Very cool, I love the fact that you guys are always pushing the limits and trying new things

The classic application for this would be a kitchen knife.
Who wouldn't like see harder INFI on a kitchen blade?
I hope that's what Jerry's intention is (at least one of them, anyway)
........
I wonder if this will effect the guarantee?
but I don't really care if it does, since I know it will hold up

That's really cool. It'll be a great excuse to pick up a couple more BC knives.

I expect this new process will be for THINFI.
... I can't wait to see what the next "Two Weeks" will bring!
Just hoping the Basic 8 is launching really soon.

So.... that's what the folder is going to be made of? :D

Can't help but think that that is the case. I hope the frame is either titanium or g-10 with steel liners...but most of all--I hope I can score one at all! :o
