Always had an Eye for this one

Great post. Thanks for sharing that with all of us. And what a beautiful keepsake knife. Looks like it still has many years left.

That is sooo totally outstanding, Paul. Big congratulations to your folks on this big anniversary of lives trip. And congratulations on your dad giving you his knife that you grew up seeing him with. A major bond.:thumbup::thumbup:

Paul, that white collar story is classic, and you were there to witness it! Adapt, improvise and overcome--that generation is amazing.

Memories and relationships are what make knives exceptional. Yours is abundantly imbued with both. Congratulations.

So much life still in that great knife and the memories it will bring back are priceless! Congratulations on a great family and a great knife to remember them by. Steven

I once got invited to have tea with the Bishop of Sheffield. I went with a vicar friend of mine. On the way in, he grumbled about putting on the collar, and when we came out, he ripped it off his neck and put on a Leeds United scarf!

Mind you, that was nothing compared to the sight I once saw of a Sheffield vicar, whom Paul's dad may possibly know, being evicted from Sheffield Wednesday's soccer stadium for hooliganism! :D

That´s an awesome story :) great people and a great knife as well.

Thanks for sharing, Paul.

Thank you for sharing. That is a great looking knife.

Has your dad ever told you about when he bought it? Did he just like the way it looked?

Haha!

My dad would likely do the same, but with a Spurs scarf.

My dad never worked in the Sheffield circuits so he probably wouldn't have known... My mothers father might have though!

Indirectly. His father was an engineering officer in the army and believed in quality tools. This transpired to my dad. At the time, my Dad had saved up a lot of pocket money to be able to buy the Taylor's, which was 'the knife' to have. The lambsfoot pattern was just the standard British pattern. None of that fancy clip blade malarkey!

I'll PM you! ;)

Great knife Paul and even greater pic of your folks.
Cherish them whilst you still have both ;)
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks buddy!

How are you, I haven't seen you around here recently?

Doing OK at the moment Paul.
Got a temporarely job untill end of the year if things go right.
Low pay but hey, it's more than welfare and I'm around people again
Don't complain at the moment.
Still enjoying the # 25 sheepfoot a lot ;)

What a neat story. How wonderful to have that connection and a tangible reminder of the relationship and all that was shared. Thanks for sharing it with us, in turn.
