Am I being too picky? Case CV Peanut & Case CV Texas Jack

My feeling on good traditionals: You can't make a perfect knife. But with lots and lots of use, with countless sharpenings and "beauty marks" from the occasional drop, with scratches and patina ........ you can MAKE THE KNIFE PERFECT.

None of the fit and finish on my case knives can hold a candle to my Northfield #77 Barlow. That being said, even my Northfield didn't arrive perfect. The blade sat proud to the point of being able to catch the skin of my finger with the point in the closed position. A little file work fixed that right up. Now it's got scratches on the blade, stains, dents in the wood from pocket carry. All beauty marks in my mind.
