Am I the only guy that uses a pocket knife at the dinner table?

I'm almost 40... people remind me of this whenever they see me eat at home with my camping utensils.
So... am I really that weird?
If the bladeforum people say I'm unique, then I'll know I might have an issue.

What a freak! Can you believe this guy?

I keed. I used mine just this evening at dinner when I realized I didn't grab a knife in line in the cafeteria.

Spyderco Salt I SE vs. chicken-fried steak = Spyderedge 1, steak 0.

i dont like to use my nicer stuff for meals, the plates are hard on the edges.

ill prep food all day long (on a wood or plastic board), but when its eatin time i use cheap serrated steak knives.

I do it just about everyday. Welcome to the club. I hate when you order a steak out and they give you pretty much an inadequate butter type knife.:barf:

In restaurants when their knives are too dull ! Sometimes I use a pocket knife as a knife and fork but that drives the GF crazy !! But Ive never cut myself !

I often use either an Opinel 6, or the Vic Soldier at work to cut meat, halve avocados, or trim nasty spots from fruit/veggies. The Opinel 6-7 is rather elegant, especially in olivewood, like mine. Only cut on paper or plastic plates, cutting on ceramic plates will kill an edge.

I own kitchen utensils so i use them. if i only had a camping spork and pocket knife then that'd be what i'd use.

I always use my edc folder to cut my burger or chicken sandwich in half, and at home, ill use a neck knife since Im too lazy to grab a kitchen knife.

Mm, lately I've been using one of my Emersons because my friend who I've been staying with has literally no useful kitchen utensils beyond a fork and even those are kind of wobbly.

Slices steak like butter. :]

I have done so when no other knives were available (cutting steak with a plastic butter knife? Not damn likely...) but I certainly don't make a habit of it, especially in public.

i cut all fruit and sandwiches with my edc. At the dinner table everyone thinks im crazy, but i often get the question "can i use your knife?"

I used my Super 7.

I never use my pocket knives at the dinner table while at home. I'm fine with my kitchen cutlery/utensiles. Plus, as has been mentioned above, I don't want to dull my sharp edges against my plates. If I'm at a restaurant with crappy cutlery then I'll use my pocket knives.

I use my knife all the time for fruit but usually not at the dinner table. When I go to our beach house I use my opinel because I do not like any of the other knifes in the kitchen.

I have a Titanium hobo set from Knives of Alaska. The spoon is so small that I only use it when camping or dieting. I tackle meatball subs with a 5.5" Camillus CUDA MAXX. I can't abide spaghetti sauce on my fingers. I frequently filet fruit with my other EDC, a Benchmade Osborne 943. If you need an S90V blade to cut your steak, you need a new butcher or restaurant.

I generally use kitchen/ steak knives, but I have no porblem using my EDC for food (assuming it's clean). I use my delica every day at work to cut my samwich. And I have had to use my Spyderco Centofante 3 to open up crap legs at Red Lobster. Cant belive how well it worked :D

Whew! I'm not the only one.
This forum makes me feel like a normal guy.
This has never happened to me before.
