Hi guys,

I know lots of you, like me, really appreciate Spyderco, and really appreciate that mr. Sal Glesser is active on this forum to help a lot of Spyderco enthusiasts with answers on questions and solutions for all kind of problems.

But something is bugging me, and that is :

WHY do I see so much 'Question for Sal' or 'Sal look at this' or 'Sal help me' or 'Sal' and whatever question is asked topics.

We all know that Sal Glesser is active on this forum, regards how busy he is running an big company, and if your question is worth it, he will answer.

So please guys, stop with the Sal questions topic names, because it start with a normal question, but I see the questions getting less and less relevant.

We don't want to scare the guy away now, don't we?

Don't forget, be happy that the owner of you're favourite company is willing to talk with us and answer our questions by forums.

Don't push it.

So, I'm hoping I'm not the only one bugged by this stupid way of opening topics.

I hope we can put a stop on these topic names!

Who's with me?

How about x steel on y model? - How about a sprint run with these colored scales and y steel? How about a shorter blade on my perfectly fine y model?

On and on - Bugs me :)

Yea, everyone getting all righteous about steels bugs me on top of this too. I mean is there really a noticeable difference to the average user between the many steel option available. Most of us will never have to use the capabilities of these great steels in any way in our day to day lives. I have a knife in 440 that I would trust for most every job including defending me if need be. Our ancestors had none of those steels available and used knives in ways we can only dream of.

You mean, to cut stuff?
Pretty sure I can imagine that. :D

The complaint is generally that people these days use knives in ways our ancestors would never imagine doing. ;)

I suspect from reading Sal's posts he likes to interact with his customers. If he didn't like it he wouldn't be signing on here as himself.

Yes, but still, we should appreciate that he is willing without calling him out here on the forum just because we can. I'd like to save him for special :D
It is very cool to get a Sal post in one of your threads, I must admit.

No iMarcoU you are not the only one. :encouragement:

Well it's everyone's own opinion what's "important" vs. "unimportant". Best to let Sal decide.

Ok...but Spyderco is the vanguard of the steel variety movement. One of the best parts about the company IMHO. They are always looking for new and exotic steels to release to us.

In a recent thread on the Spyderco forum someone was inquiring which upcoming knives would be offered in k390.

Sal's response makes me think they aren't that bothered about people having the wish list sort of threads.

True, Sal has actually started threads asking about what steels we would like to see. I think he enjoys the different ideas and suggestions. It would be nice to consolidate those threads though.
As for the questions about knife quality issues and so on, they make it pretty clear to send it in. Thats why they have QC and customer service.

Meh, the creation of the wharncliffe Delica shows Sal doesn't mind people online asking him to do things.

... who wants to see a Spyderco chisel grind?
:D

I'll take one on a Para 4. Yeah, I want a Para 4...same as the Para 3, but just a tad thicker in the handles for my beefy mitts. Wait! Can we get a Spydie edge AND the chisel grind??? :D Now THAT would be the shiznit!!!

At around seventy years of age, it's pretty clear that it's a labor of love.

I do hope that HE finds time to do other enjoyable things and hope that SOME of us have more discretion when we start/post threads.

Some really do stalk the guy and back him into a corner until they get a response.

Im down for a little chisel action. Anyway, Mr. Glesser seems to pick his battles and takes them on quite well. He uses simple but affective answer. Im very appreciative that ive had contact with the man himself. My first time was so unexpected. He welcomed me, as he does others, and answered my question. Mr Glesser likes to stay in touch with his customers and we should definitely not take advantage of that.
