...who uses the tang of the blade as some sort of a choil?
I do so because I want to protect the pivot area from too much pressure resulting in maybe blade play and it gives me some more control chocking up the blade this way.

Especially on my beloved yella Peanut it gives me a fraction more to hold on with my big paws and I don't want the little bugger develop play from too much pivot pressure.

Or maybe it's a turn over from carrying my little Spyderco's for so long which almost all have a choil.

Whenever I see an in hand pic over here it's almost always using the handle only.

Just curious...

Thanks for reading:thumbup:

i do depending on the ergos of the knife itself, of my small collection it breaks down like this-

Cannitler- yes
Tiny Toothpick- yes
Russlock- yes
Peanut- yes
GEC #61- no
Butterbean- no

i dont do it consciously, just where the knife feels comfortable in hand.

If I'm understanding your point correctly, I do it all the time on almost every knife I own. Better leverage, feels more comfortable.

This is not something that I do with pocket knives or folders in general. If I can't use a knife without holding the blade in fear of failure, then I don't want to EDC that knife. I don't mean for that to sound harsh, its just how I feel about my EDC.
