I've got you and doctor in my prayers Heber. I sure hope he can nail it for you and get you on the permanent road to recovery.

I got back from the Clinic about 30 minutes ago. The doctor and nurses checked me out and agreed that I probably have a Hiatal Hernia. Possibly a few other problems also. They ordered a scope, the guys at the local hospital will call me back with in the next few days and give me a time.

While I was there being checked out, they gave me a liquid pain killer with the consistency of Milk of Magnesia. Had Lidacane and a Codeine in it. They wanted to see if it would help with the pain. Numbed my mouth to my tummy and is helping with the pain. They also sent me home with 20 days worth of 40mg Nexium for free.

Am not dehydrated today and have managed to keep 2 full meals down so far. Can't hardly wait for the scope so that we can figure out a course of action. I'm tired today, even thought I probably got 8 to 9 hours of sleep last night and the night before. Will either take a nap in a few, or just hit the sack early tonight. Will keep you all posted.

Thank you for the feedback Heber! You have a lot going on and I'm glad to hear they have a plan of action.

Thanks Gents!

I've been doing some more online research on my condition and found a good list of foods to avoid. Turns out that more then 50% of what I thought was okay to eat really wasn't. That's really helped this afternoon. The meds they gave me have mostly worn off, but since I can now eat better, that has helped.

Was able to put in some shop/sheath time today. Got a sheath project that Has to be done by the 31st [just got reminded of the deadline] so when I can, I work on it. Then I will get the other ones. :) If I sleep well and breakfast goes well, I'll be in the shop tomorrow as long as I can.

Thanks!

Last night went pretty good having breakfast now and so far so good. This more restrictive diet seems to be helping.

Glad to hear you are seeing an improvement Heber. You may not remember, but you and I had a discussion a few years ago about dietary restrictions. I didn't find out until middle age that I had an intolerance for gluten and eggs and the restriction of same has made a big difference in my life as well as less wear & tear on my toilet.

Cranky ole man says:

You WILL take care of yourself! I didn't invest all these years in you to have you damage yourself with self-diagnosis once the problem became chronic.

Don't make me stop this car, young man!

wacherass.

Thanks guys! I talked with the Receptionist today. Have consultation appointment for 4pm tomorrow. Guess the other doctor wants to check me out and talk to me before doing the scope.

Eating very simple and bland foods sure is helping. Dried fruit is on the list of things to avoid, but they didn't say anything about reconstituted fruit. Trying some Stawberries and raisins in my oatmeal for lunch to jazz things up a bit. . . A friend reminded me about the Asian Dish Pho last night. :) One more item on the menu!

The symptoms sound miserable, glad you're feeling better and were able to find someone who can help. I've had to adjust my diet as well over the years, hope your palette can stomach the changes (pun intended).

Good to hear you are feeling better Heber. Hope the improvement continues and the scope isn't too bad.

The Consult with the other doctor who performs the scope went well. He checked me out, agreed that it's the best option, filled me in on what's involved and answered my questions. Now I need to get some financial stuff worked out before I get the scope. Probably take a week to take care of.

The doctor talked with me about the different problems that could also cause some of the symptoms. When checking for a Hiatal Hernia or other such things, they also check for Cancer. I wondered if that was a possible cause and am glad that they check everything. The scope sounds like it would be quite interesting to watch, but not fun to be awake through.

Thanks for the support. I think I'll hit the sack now and get back at it tomorrow.
