Here it is the latest, a special order for a friend. My friend told me he was looking for a medium to large single blade that he could pinch-open. This "The Ideal" is what I found.

This knife did well to remind me that I am still just starting out. Somehow I measured the same lengths for the bolsters, but ended up having the two sides of the knife out of alignment with the bolsters. Also, my pivot pin had some room apparently and shifted at the end of finishing. I had to peen it more so it would fit snugly, which restarted the finishing for those bolsters, and I just couldnt get it to look right. I was worried about removing too much material.

On the plus side though, I learned a new soldering process, and I got the best connection and even solder that I have had so far. Also, I was really pleased with how the stag came out. Other new things - this was the first time working with 1/8" stock for the bolsters, and this was my first ever attempt at an easy open notch; both of which I think worked pretty well. I tried to satin the blade and the bolsters. What do you guys think?

That looks great. I seem to always lean toward satin bolsters. Pinchable always wins. I'm curious if you have to peen the pivot pin different from the cover pins. I think I'm going to try tinkering. I've wanted to for a while. This thread is pushing me to try it on some old knives and or new rough riders. I'm nervous I'll Jack it up. I guess I'll never know unless I try.

Go for it! Some things you tend to figure out through trial and error, and others you can find a lot of help here on the forums or on Youtube.

Interesting. No, I dont have one of those. I have been peening the pivot pretty tight with the blade open at 90 degrees. When done if its too tight, I use a rubber mallet on the blade in a way that I saw Tony Bose do it on Youtube. I will have to read up on the slackener use. Thanks!
