So i got a buck bantam blw today and it is a awsome nice knife... for some reason i have no idea y my orginal thread was closed because i said the name of the store i bought it at (didnt link it or anything just stated the name of it) and i was infracted... total nonsence

But anyway this knife is nice light weight and seems really good for a 14$ knife.

Yeah, well, I hear ya. I joined up, listed two knives for sale, one after the other, (two posts) and found out that's against the rules too. They got me too. The rules are listed, but I missed that one. I know it now.

Although you may not have provided a link to the dealer that you are talking about, it is preferred to not mention one that doesn't support Bladeforums.com.

Your best defense is to read the rules. When you joined, you checked a box signifying you read and understood the rules.

They are pretty simple, and straight forward.

...and i was infracted... total nonsence...

You may also want to check out the section on "Mod Sass". Seems to me you're tapdancing aweful close to that landmine, and that one get's you almost gone.
Oh, and, learn how to spell "nonsense".

So you've owned a knife for less than a day and it is an "amazing EDC"? Why is that? Call me skeptical, but I don't think you've owned it long enough to have formed any useful opinion yet.

You need to use it for a while and then come back and tell us what you've done with it.

Are big stores that don't specialize in knives off limits now? Last I saw, it was fine to mention places like Wally World. At least it was back when everyone was talking about how Kershaw Crowns were on clearance.

No, it's not fine to mention any dealer / source / store that is not a Bladeforums paid member, except in FEEDBACK / GBU.

Here's the rules: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/f...infractions_banning#faq_faq_infractions_lists
and specifically, http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/f...sts#faq_faq_infractions_auction_deal_spotting

Auction / Deal / Bargain Spotting

This is a variation of the "no spam" rules that we have. We know you found a great deal on a Ninja Death Tool 3000 - we don't care.

If that dealer wants to advertise on BladeForums.com, encourage them to purchase a Dealer membership here instead of giving them free advertising.

This infraction can be issued as a warning and is worth 10 points towards your total. It expires in 12 months.

This thread has nothing useful to say about knives and has turned into a discussion on rules and moderation, so off to FEEDBACK it goes itself.

I don't know why the thread was closed either. That's not a big deal. You got to open a new thread on the knife. Unfortunately you couldn't stay on topic, so even this has been moved.

Your infraction was not nonsense. You had gotten a warning previously for the same mistake. If you won't listen, we shout a little louder. Keep it polite and we won't be so quick to shout at all. Whine about it and lose respect.

Rules aside, I have a bantam blw and think it is awful. The handle is cheap but light weight and the handle is sharp and digs into my hand. Mine also opens super hard, and because it's a pinned construction there is nothing I can do about it. If you like buck, spend the extra $10 and get a buck vantage.

Interesting, the Bantam BLW was my first knife that I bought last year when I first started getting interested. It's still a great little carry, and has not let me down in general usage at work cutting down boxes, stripping shrink wrap off palletised stock, cutting strapping etc. Is it the best knife I own? No, but I don't take my best knives with me to work either. But it does a job and does it well, and is backed by Buck's lifetime warranty which is hard to beat. Haven't got a Vantage yet but I did get to handle one in store a while back and the Bantam BLW is a fair bit smaller which may suit discreet use better.
