Came across this guy on YouTube and I am quite impressed with his skills. What's amazing about this is besides his power hammer he just uses normal shop tools. It's amazing what he can do with an angle grinder. While watching I was always saying no you can't do that that won't work but hot damn he pulled it togather quite elegantly. So I thought I would pass the videos along for other to enjoy.

It is great to see.

So often we have those who claim how things can not be done and then we get an example of how it actually can be done when someone with the talent gets to work.

It looked like a hard wood to me. But I thought the same thing then I relazed he was wrapping it with Ray skin. I think the only flaw that I could pick at was not pinning the wood into place and just using adhesive to hold it onto the tang.

Yeah. That tang rivet looks like it would function like a hidden pin in terms of protecting against shearing. Plus, the wood is kind of dovetailed into the guard and pommel. That wood just looked pretty soft to me though. I doubt it will be a hard use rig though

We have a sticky for posting videos of other people. Shop Talk is for posting info, photos, and videos of what you have done.

I will leave this thread open for a little while, but please re-post the links and info in the You-Tube sticky.

I'm really glad you posted it and also glad Stacy left it up for now. I thought it was really cool how he put the center rib in then shaped the blade around it. So all those times that he was using the angle grinder, are times when most of you guys would be going to the 2"x72" grinder? What type of steel would you think he used for the guard? Would it even matter much? I too was surprised by the wood until I saw that ray skin. What was the adhesive that he used on the rivet part and why? What was the adhesive that he used to attach the ray skin? How well is that ray skin seam hidden? I bet that knife is heavy! Questions open to anyone, those were just a few that I remember having while watching.

Sorry Stacy I did not know if it was ok or not to post here. I will move it, thank you for the heads up.

Definitely some good skills there. Did anyone notice the C3PO like robot in the background?

Fact is there is no discussion when the vid is place up in the stickies.

It is better to move it up there after the discussion has died down.

Many of these talented makers do not post on BF so it is good to see there work discussed here even if they do not post.
