I found this Angistar Karambit and it looks just like the 599 but is only 25$ sharp as hell and functions better than the Fox 599 Karambit. Even survived a spine whack test.

Here's a quick look at this baby!

Spam? Counterfeit spam?

I don't believe so. Apparently, realg found his Fox 599 karambit not to his liking due to it failing his spine whack testing, and subsequently opened a series of threads about the knife and the seller to share his experiences.

It sounds like this knife passed his spine whack test and will be more suitable for his, I believe he called it, karambit flailing SD technique.

I'm glad he found something to satisfy his needs.

Doesn't mean it isn't a counterfeit. It looks exactly like the Fox except different labelling. But ah, different things suit different people i guess

That is true. Cant say I spent any time looking at either knife realg has discussed, so I don't know. Maybe a side by side comparison is in order. I'll get on that.

Counterfeit? I dunno. One might argue that they are both Emerson knockoffs.

I believe everyone who uses a Wave legally has to. Maybe you can tell us if Aginstar has?

Of course there is more to a knife's design that just that detail.

Legally they have to, but that doesn't seem to matter much to the low end chinese companies. Fox seems to try and play by the rules, but Aginstar seems to be playing a different game.

For sure there's more, the Fox definitely has an Emerson feel.

Edit: I know Fox is an Italian company, apologies if that didn't come off as clear in my initial post.

No doubt. My point is not as much about the wave feature, which is pretty clear cut....but more about the question posed by Glenn056...whether the Aginstar is a knockoff of the Fox....ignoring the Wave.

I'm saying I dont know karambits enough to know if one might claim that it is, or if one might even claim the Fox is a knockoff (ignoring the Wave!)

Maybe its just a matter of "all tactical karambits look pretty much the same"....again, I'm not at all an expert.

Nope the Fox isn't a knockoff or copy of the Emerson Karambit. They both look too different to even suggest that. The Aginstar however is a blatant copy of the Fox.

Thanks!

So the Aginstar is a blatant copy of the Fox AND, no doubt, has lifted the Wave feature without Emerson's permission.

I guess one wonders then, if this whole thread falls into the "supporting counterfeits/unlicensed knockoffs" discussion that has been so lively of late.

Haha i guess it is the inevitable, whenever a copy or even a ripoff like ganzo shows up

Can you carry a fixed blade? Nice stuff still coming out of the Philippines.
