Amazon Fake frustration

I am limiting my Spyderco knife purchases to the Spyderco website. Then I know that I am getting the real thing.

So many sad knife stories come from from trying to save a few bucks, in a world of fake copy knives, fake sellers, and fake sales websites.

Let me guess, the seller's name begins with "Hel." I bought a fake from them on Amazon. I could tell in a second. I called Amazon, they returned my money and kicked the seller off of Amazon. I repurchased the Para 3, this time in CPM S110V and it is the real deal. :)
I just called Spyderco, they said, "As long as the knife is not a counterfeit they will honor the warranty regardless of the seller.

Rockstead could learn a lesson from Spyderco about offering a great warranty :)

Yup, thats the one. It's annoying Amazon deleted about 7 negative 0 star reviews as if to say they don't sell fakes.

Was yours sloppy oiled to fake good action? Was the etching on the blade deeper and sloppier than Spyderco? Was the comma+space after Spyderco missing, replaced with a perion? Mine was very sharp but probably wouldn't last long as it definitely wasn't going to be CPM S45VN. Amazon needs to police counterfeiters or else sink to the lows of fleabay or ali whatsoever.

Amazon is a gamble - there are two ways that fake knives enter the market. One way allows for that to come from an authorized dealer, which I will not go into (Amazon or not). At the end of the day we want a genuine article when we pay for that.

I've seen too many fakes in recent years that would fool the majority of people. Probably not people like us, but Amazon employees yes- I feel a higher level of confidence buying from a proper dealer channel that would inspect a return and know what they have. If you think the box was a tell from a few years ago, I got news for you now.

The highly over oiled presentation is very consistent in my experience on any counterfeit of any brand I've seen from China. They use loose tolerances, thick washer stacks and ton of gritty oil.

Other than that one time, I usually check that the vendor is legit. I always buy what is fulfilled by Amazon as they are good with returns and boot counterfeiters when you point them out. I'm never fooled by razor sharp as cheap steels can be made sharp, only that won't last long and the blade edge will roll when you sneeze.
