I ordered a $50 UK Penknife because I commute into NYC and figured I should have at least one blade that I can't get jammed up for carrying.

The box arrived and it's the correct box for a UKPK but inside was a brand new $125 Yojimbo 2.
I'm going to go ahead and keep this. Sorry to whoever orders a Yojimbo and winds up with the UKPK...at least Amazon has a solid return policy.

Congratulations. Honesty is always the best policy, but only when it is convenient for you. :) NOT!!!:thumbdn:

Bad Karma

Keeping it will bite you in the ass down the road.

It could be some sort of legitimate mix-up, but my first thought is that someone bought a real UKPK and returned the box with a fake $15 Yo2 in it...

I don't know enough about the Yojimbo to be able to help spot a fake one though.

Yea, with the liberal return policy I'd be worried about fakes. Look around youtube for a yoj2 counterfeit video and double check.

I would contact the vendor and see if they wanted to pay for return shipping and send the correct order or if they would prefer letting me keep the Yohimbo.

+1

It's like when they make a mistake in my favor on my paycheck. All the minutes they gradually shaved come back

That would be the ethical thing to do.

Maybe spyderco made the mistake. Better get sal involved. The fate of the universe hangs in the balance.

Wifey and I are sitting on an x box from Christmas, shipped from Walmart. They double shipped. They called us a few weeks ago and asked us to send it back. We said we would, they need to provide postage paid shipper. Still waiting on it. We do not want it, nor want to be charged for it. I am about ready to start charging them storage rental.

I received an order via UPS one day and a duplicate 2 days later. While the UPS man waited I checked my credit card to see if I had been double billed which I had not, I contacted the retailer and explained the situation, refused shipment and was sent a $50 "good guy" gift card, on a $400 item.

To each his own.

Sent via telegraph with the same fingers I use to sip whiskey.

It's not a clone or fake. The outer box is for the ukpk but the inner box has the info for Yojimbo, along with the blade and paperwork.

A lot of pessimists here. MAYBE this mixup is my reward for all of the good karma I have coming...hmmm. LoL
I did reorder the UKPK.

My friend and I pre-ordered The Force Awakens blu ray from Disney a while ago. They somehow tripled our order. Called and told them of their mistake, and they told us to keep them. Made for good gifts :)

The way I see it is if you get something of more value or quantity, contact the seller. If they ask for it back then send it back (they should pay shipping). If they either don't respond or don't ask for it back then keep it, they obviously aren't much bothered by it.

We had a situation recently where a package (low value, shower curtains) was marked "delivered" by the Amazon driver when it actually wasn't (he lied to boost his efficiency numbers), we called Amazon and they sent a replacement and then the original showed up 4 days later. Called Amazon and they said to keep them both.

Yeah, the cost of shipping and processing the return exceeds what they were worth - but the point is that you did the right thing.

Why? What's wrong with you?

IN the 90s I ordered a Cold Steel original Tanto with an under arm harness. I received a SanMai III Tanto. $120 difference. Score....

Honesty is a virtue. I value the notion of treating others as you would like to be treated.

At the end of the day, someone made a mistake and you got something you didn't pay for. I would try to correct it.
