Products arrived early. Nothing but good to say about Amazon and their shipping. Still don't like their customer service though.

Well I ordered some DMT whetstones from Amazon maybe a week ago, and selected the free shipping option (what ever they call it). From the beginning, USPS did not recognize my tracing order, even days after they said it was shipped. Now my account does not exist on Amazon.

Contacted their customer service, got a generic email.

I'm about to contact my credit card company and simply request a ?charge back? I think is the term. I figure I'll give it until the second week of Feb since delivery was scheduled for the first week (slow, inexact delivery a condition of free shipping; account deletion was not mentioned).

Has anybody had any similar problems? I'm thinking a company of this magnitude would happily fix this situation, but the fact I got a completely worthless reply to my inquirey does not instill faith. :jerkit:

I've ordered a lot from, and through, Amazon. Their guarantee is iron clad. If you don't get your stuff, they will credit your card.

You probably didn't buy it from amazon, but someone else that amazon serves as a front end for, if that's the case amazon won't have info until it is supplied by the vendor, or the vendor may send you the email not amazon. I've had that a xouple of times.

I've had a few "item not in stock/back ordered" problems with Amazon over the years, but I have to say they have always worked it out and either got me the items or never charged my card.

I believe free shipping is only on Amazon's own products.

And I've done free shipping by them on my Leek and didn't have any problems like account getting deleted.

Dave: Would the UG in your sig happen to stand for Ultimate-Guitar?

Well, good news. All this concern was for naught. Still don'tknow why my account is no longer valid, but all I can say about Amazon is

Package arrived today, wasn't due until between Feb 2 and 6. Contents exactly as ordered in excellent condition (no shipping damage). Very satisfied customer.
