I just worked with some amber dyed bone . The dye seems to constantly wash out under soap and water . Does it ever end or will it always bleed like this .?

Thanks for any and all input .

I've had good results. I don't think you should be trying to wash it. Give it a rub with a dry say paper towel after leaving it for a bit. Do that again if necessary.

When I get it from Culpepper, I sand the backs flat and then wash it down with denatured alcohol until it stops bleeding out. Don't worry, you'll never wash out all the color just the powdery stuff on the surfaces. Don't forget to use rubber gloves unless you don't mind stained hands.
