Thought I'd see out the Izula looks wearing Amobyna Burl :

That looks great!!! It's like your Izula got all dressed up!! Good work!

I was thinking of doing that to one of mine but I was going to have the scales go the whole way back over the hole and everything. I have some mahogany sitting around,
not sure how well that will work for scales though. I have never seen anyone use mahogany for scales. Does anybody know if mahogany works well for scales or not?

Nice work! Nice burl!

How is it holding in place? Can you do me a big big favor and show me how you did it? I picked up a nice piece of maple burl this week-end and I might give that a shot! :)

Thanks!

Beautiful work!I think it'd look even nicer if you stripped the coating.

Beautiful work. I'd like to see the scales fit the entire handle. I know that the hole is a large part of the design and with the stock scales I like that they don't cover it, but this wood is too beautiful not to use more of.

If you ever start making and selling these, I may just have to get another Izula.

That is really nice! That completely changes the character of the knife. It's very interesting that those scales work on the izula so well. Rarely do I see a coated "working" knife that could pass in an upscale environment. From the pictures this one might just be able to pull it off. It shows how great a simple design can be in so many situations and imaginations.
