This amboyna burl is easily one of the finest tool handle woods around. It is one of the most beautiful woods, too. It is hard, dense, and heavy. It is very stable wood. It polishes like a dream and it will patina sweetly over time or you can use UV protection finishes to retain color. The grains are lined up perfectly lengthwise on these beauties and the pin is absolutely faced. Other amboyna burl may cost less but chances are that the wood you get will be of lower grade, softer, and less chatoyant. You can expect low figure, curl, and burl pin, as well. Note that the wood I offer is inclusion free and packed with color, curl and figure, all in a very limited space. There is a lot of extra effort, skill, and cost, required to get it just right like this for you and relatively speaking there is a lot of waste. You will find out just how nice this wood is when you work with it.
