These are 3 strips of Amboyna Burl that will yield a couple big bowie sized blocks or several blocks for smaller knives.
You get to be the one to decide how they will get used.
These strips came from an old Amboyna Burl that I bought last year. If I am remembering correctly the person I bought the burl from got it back in the 90s. I would suggest giving the wood at least a few months to acclimate to where you live before using it. Some of the knife makers will set natural wood aside for a year before using it. That is the safest way.
This is natural wood. It has not been stabilized. All I have done is drum sand the strips flat at 36 grit and sprayed them with a light coat of lacquer. There are some fine hairline checks at the ends of the strips. The measurements tell the overall length and the length of what I considered the best portion of each strip. No free re-sawing on these. They are priced low because they are being sold as bulk pieces.
I am making these strips available here instead of putting them in my web store.
If you want one or more of these just post "I'll take #...." and I will mark the ones you want sold with your name.
Payment needs to be through Paypal within 24 hours.
US Shipping is $10 for one or all of these. International shipping is too expensive ($50+).
#1 $125 - Overall 16" long, best portion is 12" x 2&1/8" x 1&1/2"
#2 $150 - Overall 18" long, best portion is 14" x 2&1/8" x 1&1/2"
#3 $150 - Overall 19" long, best portion is 14" x 2&1/8" x 1&1/2"
