Thanks for the compliment. Maple is a nice hard wood. the pictures make it look darker then it is. It is more blond then it looks here.

I just received my slightly modified (3 inch blade) 'Woodsman' w/ bloodwood handle and it is a well made and nice looking knife. At 3/16 inch it has a unique solid feel compared to the 1/8 stock custom utilities I have collected. I was afraid it might not slice well, but cutting up some cardboard, paper, stabbing and slashing at my eucalyptus tree and then some tomatos in that order, put my mind at ease. Handle is thick and comfortable for all four grips and my hand didn't slip when pushing down hard on cardboard or when stabbing the tree. I asked Doug to make me a sheath for horizontal carry, but he did one better as the kydex sheath is infinitely adjustable from horizontal to tip down - simple and ingenious design.
I coincidentally received three custom EDC in the mail yesterday, but this is the one that will be going out on a hike this weekend. It is hard to believe that this knife hasn't sold yet, especially since this maple is so attractive. This is a nice EDC, one that will get a lot of use.
PS. Out of the twenty or so knives I've got, this is the only one I've cut myself on .
Terrific: as I was writing this the knife has been sold. Good grab!
