Ambush alpha

I have a Tundra. Nice handle, the edge is thick as hell though.

This is what I got with a 22 degree reprofile with a KME. I like the knife but I dunno. I feel like I could club something with it as well as I could cut it.

I have an alpha and a brute and I love them both ,I've had to do some mods to both but there is nothing I can do about the thickness at the tip (shrugs) they never get any love here and it's largely due to that and the similar style to the survive gso. The brute is much more usable than the alpha ,until I re grind it will be for batoning and chopping only

I got to try out the Ambush Alpha a while back in a pass around here on BF. To me is was very similar to Survive knives GSO 5. I do have the Survive GSO 4 that I compared it to and it was very similar, just a little smaller. It is a very capable knife, but when compared to the Survive, it fell short in the fit and finish dept. Had I not compared it to the survive, I would not noticed the issues unless I compared it to the survive, which has excellent fit and finish. The issues I saw that the handle was not perfectly flush with the blade and had a slight gap and the grind was in even. I don't mean to bash on the Ambush, it is a great knife and very capable. But for a similar price I would go with the Survive.

Ambush on the left, notice the grind is a little uneven, compared to the survive on the right that is even.

Ill echo the above.

Handled a couple of Ambush knives.
One of them akin to a Survive GSO though not quite of the same standard.

The other a Canadien leaf shape, which seemed like a good utility knife also.

Knives not too shabby though Id never buy one because of one of the persons behind the knives. Ambush is affiliated with BRK IIRC.

Bark River was contracted to make the knives, that's the extent of the affiliation.

The pass around Alpha was a gen 1 blade. The gen 2's had changes made to the handle based on customer feedback feedback and personal use.
