American Knife Company Questions

They are Jim's designs built by Bark River.

I love Bark River and I think they will share some customers.

These end up being a little more expensive than Bark River--the design is a fairly costly design. They have some more designs coming out soon.

"They have some more designs coming out soon. "
It already takes me a month to check out the specs on the hundreds of existing Bark River Designs or patterns. And now i have to go and check American Knife Co. knives. It's just too much for a bumfuzzled old man to grok.

Mine arrived from Derrick a few days ago. So far so good. Green canvas micarta. A few feathersticks, some light batoning, and some bacon, peppers, and onions for breakfast. No issues.

The sheath is sort of cool. Retention is great. You can feel the magnet take hold. I have been carrying it Scout style across the flat of my back. I find it fairly easy to index the knife back into the sheath. Using my left hand to locate the opening, then coming up to it with the top of the blade. Quick and easy. I like this carry for hiking, because it is centralized and out of my way.

With vertical carry, the sheath rides high. Another plus is that on sheath gives you ambidextrous left/right verical and left/right scout carry. Pretty cool. The retention is so good, I may try inverted vertical carry. It would make access slightly easier than the high vertical option.

More to come with some picture in the next few days,

I sent a few emails about a week ago asking the same question and today Bark River replied....

If Bark River Knives helped make it, it is covered under warranty. The only thing Bark River Knives charges for is the shipping and handling fees.

Thank you
