Howdy,

For those of you who have sold your work overseas...

How do you accomplish that? How do you take payment?

Best,
Marion

For the damascus and other steel (no knives yet) that I've sold overseas, I've accepted PayPal for payment and shipped via USPS or FedEx. My sales have been confined to Great Britain, and what happens on their end is that the shipping company hold it at a facility until the buyer comes in to pay their VAT and pick it up. Not ideal, but some of my best customers are in the UK...

I take paypal for overseas sales. Then I send by USPS Express Mail (which generally takes about 4-6 days) and is insured with tracking. Fedex and UPS Works too, but is generally much higher in price $$$ we're talking 2-3 times if not more but of course it arrived in 2-3 days.

Pretty much the same here, I have shipped to GB, France, Germany, and Canada. Always paypal. Customs fees can be large I always mark the contents as kitchen utinsils and fully insure.

Paypal and the last hawk we shipped overseas went to Israel...Sent it usps priority and it arrived in about 8 working days just fine..

Paypal. I also ship USPS priority mail. Have shipped to UK, Spain, Canada, Israel, and the Ukraine .

Im an aussie buyer, I always pay with paypal. It normally takes 2-3 weeks to get to me as customs here are a pita.

I've bought plenty off stuff in the US and had it shipped to Holland and Germany

I love $12,- flat rate boxes !!!

Australia, France, South Africa, Costa Rica, Greece, Philippines and Germany
Paypal and USPS.
Most of the customers I have had, had to give special instructions as to how to deal with customs. Germany is real funny about importing a knife. They think if your importing it it must be worth thousands.
South Africa has a high theft problem that the customer has to deal with. Australia wants there import fees for a hand tool because a knife can be mistaken for a weapon.

I've sold knives in 14 countries and paypal is the norm. I have had checks sent from a couple of countries. Shipping, I prefer USPS International priority.
