Got it only this week as a present, but I'm enjoying it so far. I had one of the old Mini Lawman years ago and hated everything about it. That knife kept me from buying any Cold Steel at all for a long time, nevermind another named Lawman. This is a totally different story from that one though. Quality is excellent, and I like how it feels both hand back and using the choil. I'm not a big choil fan actually, but I actually like using this one. It feels more hand filling choked up. Not having jimping makes it way more useful when cutting holding back too since there is no worry of the jimping snagging what you're cutting.Thank you….how do you like yours?
Thanks for the detailed replies! Yeah, was concerned about the strength since there are no liners. I may just get one…a couple of reviewers thought it may be as close as you can get to being the perfect edc blade.I have an older one in XHP, but it's the same design and dimensions. Very slim and comfy in-hand and very solid. Opens/closes smoothly. If you're asking about the lack of liners due to concerns of strength, it seems to be a non-issue. A well-known youtuber tried to break the blade out of the the all-G-10 handle a few years ago and just ended up snapping the blade, but the handles and pivot area of the blade were fine.![]()
I would love to see what those looked like. Are there any pictures floating around of one?The old original version of the lawman had liners. The new versions do not.
I'm guessing to save money. I guess I am lucky, my hands can accommodate liner knives quite well.I’m guessing the liners were ditched in order to thin out the handle.
I think they realized that g10 is plenty strong enough without liners. On top of that, it saves weight and liners can rust. Sure, it probably saves money as well.I'm guessing to save money. I guess I am lucky, my hands can accommodate liner knives quite well.
