In 2015 they thinned down the linerless handle further with the introduction of the XHP blade. This IMO is a bad change, because I started observing slightly warped handle(i have had 8-9 lawmen since 2010). To this day, i still wish they used the thick scale but with fine texture like the latest version of recon 1.

In your opinion, would you recommend the latest S35VN version is worth getting…I’m trying to decide between it and a Code 4. Only negative I’ve read about Code 4 is that the aluminum handle can be slippery. Asking since you own several different versions.

I much prefer lawman. I own all versions of code 4, too thin and too slick for my taste. Also the lawman is just better sized for me even though the difference on paper is not that big.

Thanks! I’m liking the Lawman just a tad bit more than the Code 4. The handle on the Lawman just looks much more comfortable and intuitive.

I have been considering both the Code 4 and the Lawman but the AD-10 fits so well that I bought a second one.

I purchased a custom AD-10 from Mr. Demko around 10yrs ago. Paid exactly $515 for it. I’ve been told his custom AD-10’s go for around $800 now. It’s a tank and a little on the heavy side. The Lawman looks like the AD-10’s baby brother in comparison

The AD10 is well made and does feel good in hand. But whenever I think about carrying it, I pick up my Ultimate Hunter instead.
I like my Code 4 with grip tape on the handles. But my Lawman Is a better knife.

i remember the lawman had liners when it first came out, they should have kept that version, i really regret not buying one

About 6 months ago, I bought my first ever CS knife. I liked it so much I had to buy a few more. For me it is the most perfect single-blade folding knife I've found.

I'd love to try one of the earlier ones. I've looked on eBay but the ones with XHP blades don't come up too often.

I was so happy, then so sad, as I ran into this dude who was by chance selling all of his Cold Steel knives before GSM... he just had a kid, so I was not only helping him out, but getting great deals. I got a the polished G10/alum S35VN Espada XL, Voyager XL Tanto, and a GRIK for $350 from this guy, easily $515 value.

He had a bunch of other stuff too, XHP "stout knives" (that is what I call CS knives between 3-4 inches like the American Lawman or the 4 Max) and a Black Talon II, and I was waiting on a check that took forever to clear, I think he did not even believe me and thought I was just ducking his offers, but I really wanted them! Gone by the time I had my cash. Missed out on all of that, but hey, got some good stuff at least... I did just get my first XHP blade, though, a Chapparal.

Don't worry it happens. I missed pre-GSM 4 Max, Recon XL, Hold out XL, Frenzy 1 and 3, Immortal OD green and others.
