American Regulator: Pictures, Thoughts, Comparison

Full flat grind versus saber hollow.

Crinkle coat versus smooth coat (duracoat?).


I'd really like to hear from someone who has the old and new to see the differences in weight, balance, slicing capability, batoning, tip piercing / strength, and overall thoughts.
 
I can comment on a few items. The coatings both have texture, it is just different.


The weights are all different. They are all beautiful.

Full Flat = 14.50 ounces
Hollow Ground = 14.92 ounces
Saber Grind = 16.01 ounces

Differential Heat Treat? I don't know, sorry.

I do know though, from use, that mine is tough as hell. Batoning through hard dry logs and stabbing into trees it flexed a good bit but came right back to straight.
