American Tomahawk Company?

The 'O' rings are nice for keeping your hands from slipping but I think they might need replacement after only a short time of use. It has a lanyard hole on the handle which is handy. If what was said about the recesses being weak points, I would rather it had the solid handle like on the LaGana.

Thanks for the write up. I'd say the potential weakness from the rings is not a problem. First, it only occurs if air bubbles are created directly under a ring. Secondly, its unlikely you'll generate enough torque at that point of the handle to do any damage.

Let us know if you do any chopping with it.

The Siebert designed Comanche is now made by Fox Knives USA. I like the one solid 1 piece design. I did have the Fehrman designed double bit that had the same handle as the CQC-T. I never had any trouble with the O rings.

Spyderco does not make tomahawks. The Comanche has holes in the head, not on the blade. It's spike is more of a spontoon than the CQC-T. I personally like the Benchmade Killian
tomahawk. Although, it sounds like you're looking for purely for a weapon and the Benchmade may not be for you. The CQC-T is probably a very good choice.I'm interested in hearing how it holds up.

From everything I've researched (including on this forum) Winkler and RMJ are the obvious leaders in hawk design for tactical/self defense purposes. I like the look of the Comanche, but I prefer the profile of the Winkler hawks, and have two on order. It doesn't seem that one could go wrong with any of the higher end hawks ... I imagine that for most of us, we'd be hard pressed to cause enough duress for any of them to fail.
