This is vintage model, I believe circa 70th. Still works, though. I acquired few ames's from ebay over the past years, some returned immediately as a total junk, kept two - selling one of those and still using another.
You should understand the limitation of testing on device that old. To measure the hardness I usually do at least 10 probes, half on a standard block and half on the testing material. Sometimes all probes comes within expected standard block range, some probes I discard as they come too low or too high.
Tester comes with 3 blocks - RC60.5, RC29, RB74. The 60.5 block is pretty much useless, too many probes have been done in the past and only space close to edge still shows expected values - center of the block shows +2RC most of time. I also included a piece of CPM154 hardened to 62.5 and tested on bench lab grade equipment - and I trust it more than those ancient blocks.
One RC diamond head is mounted on tester.
Another spare RC diamond penetrator and 1/16 RB ball penetrator included as parts. Diamonds still show a nice cone tip in the microscope.
P.S. You should remember you are buying a vintage equipment, and do not expect it to work as new.
