Does anyone have any experience with the quality and value per dollar of the Amherst knives or the folders made by Tim Britton? I've bought several William Henry's and a few Al Mar's.........how do Amherst or Tim Britton's knives compare? Any comments or opinions would be appreciated.

I have not seen any Amherst knives firsthand, but I have met Mr Britton at the Chesapeake Knife Show, and been very pleased with his character and his product. I am no expert on knives, and not the person to ask an opinion of in regards to strict tolerances on slipjoints, but I know, from just a couple of minutes talking with him, that Mr Britton cares about his product, and his customers. Not only are his knives pretty to look at, they are functional too. No, I didn't get one, but I'd like to.

I have two of Tim's knives. Fit and finish are terrific, great BG-42 blade steel, and he seems to have a nice supply of great looking stag. His prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. I recommend him.
