No Sir, these are not kit knives.

Sole authorship means that a maker creates each and every part him/herself, including pins, etc.

In our situation, we have some parts cut for us. We do grind our own blades. I have a good friend of mine handle the heat treat. We prepare all the material used for handles. And, we do all assembly and hafting.

In addition, I personally do all the design work and a great deal of the engineering required to make everything work.

No sir, no kits here. Just alot of hard work. I understand your question because there are so many things available on the market, that a potential customer has to ask the right questions to have some peach of mind in any purchase they make.

I did change this post as my first answer to this question was a little emotional and a little less than flattering. I do, however, understand the reason for the question. And, I'll answer any follow ups as best I can.

Hope you like the knives.

Take Care,

Pappy

Pardon me pappy, but your response to what appears to be an honest question strikes me as a little more than distasteful. A question is not necessarily a suggestion. I've read your responses before and so I was already familiar with what the response was likely to be. Perhaps the Potential future customer wasn't. FWIW your website offers little information IMO.

P.S. I like many of your knives and as I've said before, offer some of your knives in bone, and i'll be a buyer;)

Thanks for calling me out on this.

The "kit" word threw me for a loop. I probably should have waited until tomorrow to respond. That would have been the wiser choice I guess.

But being human, well.........................I screw up sometimes.

My apologies to anyone who reads it.

And, we are preparing to put additional information on the website. Your opinion is quite correct and there are other who share your opinion.

So, thanks for letting me be human and making some mistakes. Not intended to make anybody think ill of me. We have worked so hard, for what seems to be such a long time. I had a knee-jerk reaction, and blew it.

I'm going to edit the post now so maybe I can correct my words for future readers.

Sorry, and thanks again for calling me out on this one. If I mess up, it's good to know there are those of you are willing to tell me, and do it nicely like you did.

Keep Care,

Pappy

Maybe I should have waited until tomorrow too, Pappy;) All is good and I really do hope to own one of your fine smaller knives in bone someday. Heck maybe I'll even settle for stag:D

I edited this to say that Pappy's second response makes me want one of these knives more than ever. Because now I know they're made by REAL humans who occassionally make a mistake, just like me. Well, not just like me, I can't make a knife, but you all know what I mean :D
