This is one of 6 Walden prototypes completed recently by Amherst Cutlery.
We make each one by hand. This is a prototype. We may or may not go into a limited edition of this knife. We do not know yet.

Liners/Bolsters: 416
Handle Material: Premium Sambar Stag
Lanyard: Simple lanyard with walrus tooth ornament
Length Closed: 5-1/4"
Length Open: 9-1/8"
Blade Finish: Hand-Rubbed
No Sheath for this knife.
Will be hand honed to razor sharp.
Etch on Main blade to read: A/C, 1 of 6, Prototype

I love these, but where I live I can't carry any blade over 3.5. If a smaller one comes out I will be all over it!
 
very nice knife, and a pattern rarely made by custom knifemakers.
by Walden-esque, do you mean like the Schrade-Walden 225 ? or did the older Walden Knife Co. inspire you ?

The inspiration came from a customer. His grandfather used a Schrade-Walden 225 at the family cabin. It has been there for years and years. He is in the knife business and wanted something that would feel as good in his hand as his grandfather's knife. So we made these prototypes for a potential limited edition run of 100.

The old knife companies all inspire me. I've collected catalogs, ads, knives and any other resource material I could find on the old patterns and methods. All of that goes into each project I do.
