I knew before I went to the Blade Show in Atlanta I was going to buy a new folding CR, and I ended up with a very nice find!
In a booth near CR's I found a beautiful, new Umfaan with blue circles. The circles just sparkle! When I brought it home and showed it to my two daughters, both said in unison, "Ooooooooo, pretty!"
It turns out there were very few of these made.
When the Umfaam first came out, 50 were made with circles that began blue at one end and changed to gold at the other. These were numbered prototypes and sold quickly! Apparently, a good customer of theirs wanted one with blue circles so CR agreed. However, it ended up that a bunch of these blue circle scales were made by accident! Fewer than the prototypes. So, while they aren't numbered, they are still very limited!
The rest of the Umfaams made with circles were not anodized and were the same color as the titanium.
I'm very happy with this little accidental treasure!
Am I going to use it?
Oh, yeah!!!!
