An all chain knife, blade and handle

I've been waiting the see how this knife and it exceeded my already high expectations. I love it, keep up the excellent work.

I have been following your posts and I like the fact that you are out there just do what a lot of us wish we could be doing. Your work is inspiring and mite just get me off this chair and join you out in the shop. Keem em coming!

Definitely looking forward to taking this puppy for a walk! Your creativity astounds me, Ariel.

I finished the sheath and if the customer likes it, it's ready to ship!

The "engravings" on the leather is the same style I used for the blade and handle. The front side stitching is a chain, and the back side is extra resistant nylon string.

The customer likes it! Ship it already!!! ;) Beautiful work, Ariel!

You are a great inspiration, and one of the best knife makers I have come across.

This knife is awsome! . <period

Wow, that is one really amazing piece. Keep up the good work. Love the handle, especially the way you've encased the chain in epoxy or some other form of resin, almost reminds me of a bug trapped in amber. Too cool.

Lagarto.

Thanks you :)

Does it have some kind of a liner inside?
I'm not sure what you mean :)
It's a folded and molded leather sheath, stitched on one side if that answers your question.

Ariel

What I meant, is there an insert that comes between the leather and the blade/tip when the knife is in the sheath. I gather there isn't.

In any case, it's a piece of art. I especially like how the colors of the knife and the sheath "play" nicely toghether.

Ariel.

your knife and your idea to the project, are wonderfull

I would like to know what a kind of resin you used on the handle, and the finished in that.

Abraços.

Alessandro Andreotti

Thanks again :)

Way-O,
Got you now :)
There's a piece of leather on the inner part of the tip and on one side of the sheah to if the owner presses the knife hard, it sticks there instead of cutting the sheath open.

You can see an example here: http://www.aescustomknives.com.ar/images/nessmuksheath4_big.jpg
(This picture shows a double lines, the chain knife sheath only has one)

The full tutorial on how I've made that sheath is located here: http://www.aescustomknives.com.ar/docs/knifemakingnessmuk.htm

Andreotti,
I've used epoxy resin. The only reason I've used a different one of what I've been using to make micarta is that I needed one that was completely clear when dry, but any epoxy resin will do it.

The process to polish it is exactly like tha one you'd use on wood, first you sand it from coarse grain to smooth and then you polish it with a rotative polishing disk.

riddleofsteel,
You know, a concertina wire knife would be very cool...

Regards,

Ariel

I was skeptical at first on this one, but I should have known that you would make it happen, defenitely cool and unique, as always craftsmanship meats imagination, very cool
