An apology to Cold Steel and Lynn Thompson

Hi Fuller,

Not to argue with you, but couple things:

CS has done quite a few good things for knife society, however to me personally that doesn't mean I can't question their claims or express my opinion about their particular action(s).

About an appology, you see, Personally I think it was not nice, I mean that annual or seazonal "Riposte" stunt that Lynn does. Therefore, I don't think that by saying that, i.e. stating my opinion regarding the Riposte, I accuse CS or being biased or I am not based on reality, especially that there's that CS website & I have CS magazines where that all is printed. In other words I disagree with Chad to qualify that as "not based on reality" or an "accusation". Does that make sense?

If Chad has changed his mind that's his business & not mine, fine, I accept that.
However I still think the same & I guess many others too, expressing your pride in your work doesn't necessarily require puting down the opponent using any methods.

Yes, it is very honorable, the support Lynn provides to all these organizations, however there are many others who help too, yet not acting kindda different towards their competitors if any...

I can't know what the real story is but I have to agree with Lifter, it sounds to me like CS sicked the dogs on Chad. -Could be wrong but seems like his silence speaks volumes... If that's the case it's something that we as knife buyers should not forget.

Hi Hugh Fuller. I was referring to the specific type of language Chad was using-it is not his usual conversational style. He repeated several phrases in different posts as if there were certain things he had to say. Anyway, that's the way it looks to me.
As for my apologizing??for what??Having an honest opinion? If I was wrong all Chad has to say is I was wrong.I didn't insult, use bad language,or in any way abuse anyone.
BTW-if you think this hasn't happened before, it has.One specific custom maker has sent letters from his lawyer to someone who made derogatory posts about them, the same one threatened to go to a dealers house and beat him up. Just last week, a dealer posting on BF threatened legal action against 2 posters.
Also,if you read my original post I also said it could be department pressure. If Mr Thompson supports all those LEO activities, it may be pressure from his bosses.
Hey, if Chad says I'm wrong, then I'm wrong. But to this point that isn't the case.
It is also very possible that Chad just changed his mind about CS, but the way he hasn't responded to several asking the same question, still looks to me like MAYBE he's prohibited from saying so.
Sorry this is so long guys, but one last thought. If it was something he HAD to do, he'd probably like it to go away quickly, so if Chad doesn't respond this time, I'm not gonna prolong it for him.

Wow Chad......they sent you the newest catalog???
That would almost make me apologize as well.

Chad,
Your original comments may have, in some slight way, misrepresented the letter of CS's advertising campaign, but I think they very well spoke to the spirit of CS's advertising campaign. 'Nuff said.
