Earlier this year I said things in anger here that I shouldn't have. I feel that if I want to participate, I need to say this in public, too:

Stacy, I apologize. Saying what I did was out of line. No excuses for it, just one of my personality flaws. I'm sorry. Your value to the forum is obvious....

I expect no forgiveness. I just wanted you to know that I know it was wrong to say those things. Inappropriately insulting a man in public mandates a public apology.

This has been bothering me. Time to get it off my chest and do the right thing.....

You are a class act Mr. Fitzgerald, this is just another example of it.Does this mean you will be more active on Bladeforums? I hope so.

It's quite interesting, actually... I witnessed the 'blow-up' when it happened and, a while afterward, both men independently demonstrated their worth -- in different ways, and in totally unrelated circumstances. I don't believe either of these men to be anything other than good men, but sometimes good men don't see eye-to-eye on everything. I, for one, am glad to have BOTH of you on the forums. The pair of you are far too great an asset to lose, and certainly not to something like a personality conflict.

...however, I've yet to see IG be wrong about character judgment of anyone, excepting yours truly, of course! He does have a soft spot for us Irishmen!:D

Hope you guys can reach common ground!

Of course you realize that the : "Find all post by ...." function is going to be run ragged by those of us that didn't catch the offending post the first time and just want to know what everyone's talking about!

Now that's the Fatzo that we have grown to know and love.;) :D You are not only big in stature, but you are big in heart too.

I'll save you the trouble. There really wasn't one. It's a bit more of a long-running difference in how both men approach things. It's really not important, either. What's important is keeping BOTH of these incredibly valuable and honorable men on these forums to answer questions posed by dumb-asses like myself!:D

All I can say is that I hate seeing a valued member of this fine community leave us. Mike, your absence was felt. I feel that if Stacy left, there would be just as big a hole. I am glad you are back, and if Stacy has not read this thread yet, I sincerely hope he does accept your apologies, and we go forward because you BOTH are wonderful knifemakers and wonderful people.

Obligation-Justice-Courage ,what it takes to be a person of honor.

Well done, Fred

I am not sure why I missed this thread.
Mike contacted me and let it was here.
I was not insulted or overly upset by Fitzo. He is an artist of sorts, and accordingly has the temperament of an artist. I would not want him any other way. I value him as a member of this forum and a member of the knife world. He has long since earned the right to his opinions and has the experience to back them up.Both of us have thick enough skin to let this pass without regrets.
I ,too, apologize for any statements that ever seem short or cocky.
Glad to have you back,Mike. Let's both drink a beer at 7PM tonight and say "Here's to ya' fellow!"
Stacy

Your gracious nature has not been lost on me, Stacy. Though frequently slow to recognize a good lesson, I remain willing to learn. Thank you.

7PM, then. Here's to you! Huzzah!

I admire any man who knows a hazzah when he sees one.7PM it is.I will be hosting a formal dinner for 50 scottsmen this evening. We will all toast you at 7.
Hazzah,Stacy

Ah, then I shall break out a wee nip of my Black Bush to toast you in return. It is only Irish weasel piss and not fine Scots whiskey, but it's the best Gael I have on hand. Huzzah!

Have fun with your dinner.

Mike, I will have to tell you the story I will use tonight.
An Irishman and a Scotsman were having a wee dram at the pub and began discussing the merits of scotch vs Irish whisky. After several rounds of quality debating (read - shouting and arms flailing about) The Scotsman said he could prove his was the best. He related how his new neighbors had just moved in last Saturday. Being the gentleman he was, he helped them unload the lorry and afterward brought over a bottle of 20 year single malt - they ended up drinking nearly 1/2 the bottle. The next morning they all got up and went to mass together.
The Irishman seemed puzzled, "How does that prove anything?", He asked.
My neighbors and I drink a bottle or two of Irish whisky every Saturday....and we always go to mass the next day???
"Aye, that may be true,"said the Scot...."But are your neighbors Jewish?"

The mayor of Virginia Beach will be my guest tonight,She is Jewish. This should be a good pre-dinner story.

See you at 7
Stacy

Aye, a fine story it is! The Mayor will be honored!

Keep yer garter tight!

You have returned in style Fitzo, and you have accepted Big Bird back in very stylish fashion Stacy.
Truly men of character. Good on you both. :D

Mike
