An Apology to Stacy Apelt

You have returned in style Fitzo, and you have accepted Big Bird back in very stylish fashion Stacy.
....Mike

I made a new avatar for awhile, Mike, since you remember that Bird.:) Alas, it has faded a bit and is a little less sharp around the edges for the years have taken a bit of a toll on it, too.

For those interested, that buzzard stretches from shoulder to shoulder. It's about 20 years old, now. I removed the skin from the foto to preserve your stomachs. :D

LOL Fitzo,
Beautiful Bird, but the skin gave it character.;)

I am a beer boy myself so I will raise a glass of watered down amber to you and Stacy at 7:00.
No reason why just you guys should feel warm and fuzzy on your own.;)

Mike

Not as warm an fuzzy as they'll be at about 7:00, I wager.

Unfortunately, nought but a tiny tiny nip for me, Mr. Caswell. I have a fondness for whiskey, but we can no longer keep company. All the drugs nowadays come from the pharmacy. I do get to skin pop a nice dose of immunosuppressant tomorrow, though!!;)

I get high on the real thing nowadays..."a clean windshield, a full tank of gas, and a shoe shine!" :D

(I sure hope there's someone else knows that quote from Firesign Theatre.)

K, Mike, here tis. May as well let the newer folk see what can happen with the years:

"White lighning, White lightning! This is ground beef control, do you read me?... over.

I read only good books... over.

Ha ha ha. Oh, I'm high all right. I'm high on the real thing. But not on false drugs. I'm high on powerful gasoline, a clean windshield, and a shoeshine."

Quotin' Firesign Theater.....now I really know you're REALLY a class act, Mike!!

Good on ya both! Look forward to learnin' from each of you here.

Way to go Fitzo, that is how I remember the Bird.
Methinks there is a warm heart beating beneath his wings!:D

The years are generally not kind to the body on the outside so it is what is inside that counts.
Oh my goodness, I am getting all mushy, I think I need another beer!:p

Very good to have you back Mike.

Mike

Mike, Tonight at 7PM, your time, The mayor,John V.Quarstein (noted historian ),several admirals ,captains, colonels, even the staff at the Princess Anne Country club, all gave you a resounding HUZZAH.I hope the fact that all the men were in kilts won't lessen the joy of this for you.Take care ,Buddy.
Stacy

BTW,there was as much Irish whiskey on the bar as Scotch.

Mike and Stacy,,, I hope you two didn't miss your drink by an hour
welcome back for good I hope Mike.. how you been doning on your quest? I'm down some...
Mike it's funny tattoos came up right now....

you'd never guess..:foot:
I just bought a tattoo machine set up, the whole works..
..to touch up my 30 year old tats
I love doing things myself..:D once I get some of those done I have a date
with a do it yourself scull for the left forearm :D :D , I'll post a picture when I'm done with it....
I had to order some stencil paper for that..
pulling my own teeth is getting boring, besides that, I'm running out of them :p

Stacy, it was just me and Nanc but you got the best we could offer as we raised one to you, too! Huzzah! I got the time wrong, though; we toasted you at 7PM your time. hehe

As for the kilt: I looked for quite awhile in pre-Internet days for a FitzGerald tartan, but apparently the Irish didn't do it that way. Never could decide what I wanted, and never got one. Nowadays, I'd look like the proverbial hippo in a tutu.

Thank you! Hope you had a nice dinner. How'd the mayor like the joke?

Danged whiskey sure tasted good. Did I mention I love whiskey? :D There are days I think if I shucked most of these medications and went back to a stiff dose of John Barleycorn every night I'd be a lot better off.

Dan, that could get to be a real bad habit...... The guy that did my leg got a bit drunk one night and when he came out of the stupor the next day found he had inked a purple chainsaw with eyeballs and fangs for teeth that covered his entire thigh. Pretty weird ink but he was working for a place outside Chicago at the time called "Psycho Tattoo." :D
We went in for our flu shots last week and the two of us and the cute young redheaded nurse all ended up with one or the other piece of clothes hiked up to show off ink. I love tattoos. And cute young bold redhead nurses with tattoos, too, for that matter! ;)

Fitzo,
In honor of your rebirth in the forum, and your love of ink, perhaps you could start a new off topic thread....all knifemakers show off your ink. I bet it'd be a hit!
Matt

Before this gets too off topic I just want to say once again that I definitely needed to say "I'm sorry" to Stacy. My behavior was unacceptable to me. For reasons I don't need to go into I have grown crabbier the last five years and my "mouth" gets carried away at times. Oftentimes, unfortunately. My "excuses" don't justify my behavior.

Regardless of Stacy's gracious understanding, it does not change the fact I was in the wrong. I am not one to ignore my failures like they never happened, and feel it required a public apology.

Hopefully I will avoid the need in the future.

I like BF very much, and enjoy being a part of this place. I missed participating. Thank you all who welcomed me back.

I will do as you ask. You're right, could be fun. i don't remember a thread like that here before. Since I have a piece with a sword in it, perhaps it would even be considered topical. nod nod wink wink

I'll have the missus get a foto tomorrow.

I better not be the only one........ :grumpy: :D

It is a pity that for most Firesign is an unknown. It was wonderful comedy in an era dominated by the more lowbrow Cheech and Chong (not that I didn't enjoy that, too!).

Java, I listened to those albums under conditions not conducive to memory retention. :D

I would appreciate knowing what piece it was and which LP it came from. I loved Nick Danger most. Rocky Rococo is still one of my favorite voices. "Out of the fog and into the smog..."

Thank you!
