hey fellas
I haven't been around in a while. the last time I posted was to congrat Charlie on his million'th post. Then I ended up saying i wanted to get in on his ga. Truth is the ga didn't matter.I was wrong in trying to get in on it when I just left the scene with no explenation. I made a lot of friends here, as well as a few foes.Foes unintentional, such as life. Everyone in trads are great down to earth people, there is no doubt. we've had some helluva great conversations on knives. Anyways, to make a long story short, if you want me in the community contributing, let it be known. If not, let it be known. I'll understand and respond accordingly. I will not hold any ill will to anyone who doesn,t care for me to post. My main goal is to talk about knives. The GEC 56 is still the best yet in my pocket. Next purchace..... ruger new Vaquero single action. Most traditinal
Peace bros,
Steve

Welcome back, Steve! It's great to see you here again. I have always enjoyed your presence here.

Thanks Rick. I can,t explain the affliction I have. The closest I can think of is I am a bit paranoid. I guess we all have some ghosts in our lives. Any good stockmns being made lately? My guess is GEC is it.

Yeah, the GEC #66 Calf Ropers are very nice. They did a new run of them earlier this year.

My most recent Stockman was a 2012 Schatt & Morgan Heritage Series Cattleman. Just got released a few weeks ago. It's a good looking knife and I really like the fact that it's a reproduction of an original 1903 (I think) S&M pattern. I'm not all that impressed with my example though. Walk and talk is a bit spongy on mine. There is also the Woodsman in the same series.

I opened my Queen stockman, a knife i liked very much and the springs busted on me. I returned it for another, but it wasn't the same. It had some blade play where as the original was as good as they get. I'll check out the Schatts. Thanks Rick.

Welcome back! I just picked up a Case 63032 in CV and Amber Bone that I'm pretty happy with.

I was just wondering where you were. I hope to see you around more often.

Thanks Mack. Hows the Saddleback wallet treating you? Mines part of my azz now.

Mine is a part of me now. Much like my Vom Cleff pen knife is a part of me. I just finished putting a coat of Obenauf's on the wallet and mineral oil on the knife.

Hey there Steve, welcome back my friend, its real good to see you back.
Now if I could only post welcome back Cotters song...

Good to see you back Steve. It has been a while. You've always had some good knives to show. Now to steal some of Duncan's thunder.

Wow, I'd love to see that one-- on your distinctive, dirty traditional blue backdrop, of course! :-)

Edit: I think I just found it, blue towel and all-- is it one of these? I love Case's amber bone.

Yep, the medium-sized square bolster is the new one. I have about thirty of those blue microfiber cloths and I still can never find a clean one.

So what's not to like!!! I like hanging out with ya Steve. Some of us are more grumpy, anal, crotchity, high strung, or whatever than others but so what. It takes all kinds and that along with some great discussions about knives is what makes this forum so great. Good to see you posting in Trads again.

Good to see you around again Steve!! No apologies necessary imo. Sometimes you just need a break.
