An Army Of Knife Experts Share Tips On Choosing The Best Survival Knife

I wonder why "blade steel" is the 2nd most important consideration according to the people polled. I think tang, thickness, length, ease of sharpening and just the overall design of the knife is far more important than whether it's AUS8 or M390 :rolleyes:

+ Certified mountain guides (e.g. AAI)
+ Certified hunting guide
+ Outdoor skills instructors (e.g. NOLS, Outward Bounds)
+ Wilderness first responders (e.g. SAR, USFS and State Rangers)
