An Aussie experiences the Canadian Bush!

Bushfires are a few suburbs away from me, but are apparently controlled, according to the rural fire service website. Though I can't imagine they'd ever report it as "Blue Mountains fires. Situation: Uncontrollable Inferno"

Southern Cross: I think it's high time you put up some more trip reports. Your last ones, either here or on the fallkniven forum had some great scenery.

Glad you had a great time. It sounds like one heck of a trip and lots of fond experiences to cherish.

That sounded and looked like a fantastic trip! What is the name of your friends school; it sound s great!

I loved the woven matts you made, great post!

Agreed, looks like it had to be a great time! I love fried bread in camp, great with bacon or ham gooked over an open fire!

G'day Beef

I've just started 5 1/2 weeks of holidays :D

So there's a fair chance I'll be able to post some pics

Kind regards
Mick

I know what you mean about the temp swing playing hell with your body. I left Fayetteville, NC, on a February day. The temp was an unusually warm 70 degrees. That night I was in Fairbanks, Alaska. We went out to have a few beers. We decided to pack it in for the night and the temp was -55. A 125 degree drop in 18 hours.

Great pics beef. Just got back from Leura in the Mountains - Not bushwacking; anniversary celebrations. :o though I definitely have to do more of the former.

Ditto to the other guys said; you rural blokes look after yourselves!

Thanks for the comments all. Glad you enjoyed them.

Miasma: Leura's a beautiful spot, lots of nice walking, especially out near Mt Hay.

Too many hills out there, a bloke could get all hot and sweaty. :)

It is nice out there though, although Sydney seems to creep closer every year. :(

I'm in Sydney now, really want to move to the mountains though. Are you guys friendly to sydneysiders moving in? :D
