An authorized Spydie dealer doesn't want to help me -- what should I do?

Yes I wouldn't leave positive feedback, you can always mention the comms.

They may have been really busy and prioritiesed over other customers but in light of that, after sales care is how most companies are measured.. its all well and good having cheap prices, but if the seller is arogant and generally not a nice person to deal with, then I'd rather pay more if it meant better customer service.

PS - I dont think Guyon was saying you were a perfectionist freak, but I know of people who'd claim that for less.... :p

Nice knife, and also oli coming on here with 3 posts and being the way he was looks like he was after a fight... shame on him

hawkins, You can't judge somebody by the number of posts that they have. You can make some judgements by the content of those posts. I run a business that depends mostly on word of mouth. I've never played on e-bay so maybe I am missing something here. This guy claimed he had a product with "DAMAGE" and he wanted the seller to offer a solution. The seller knows that the product arrived still NIB (and bag) without any claims of the box being damaged. From the sellers point of view, something doesn't add up. We don't know what the return policy was. We don't know how familiar the seller is with this particular piece or if he has others to examine or trade. You have heard one side of the story. You can make a limited judgement about this one side. If you came to a different conclusion about who deserves "negative feedback" based on this one side of the story then I would like to hear it. I don't want anybody anywhere to get "negative feedback" unless they deserve it. I don't suspect that a person can give themselves "negative feedback" on e-bay, but I was trying to be helpfull and point out that the seller did nothing wrong. And I truly could not believe that this guy was considering posting anything negative AFTER he learned that he did not have a "DAMAGED" product. I still can't believe it. I did not come here to fight with anybody. I came here to learn more about these knives with holes. I would have sent this to you in a PM but I guess that I don't have enough posts to do that.

I find this question almost unbelievable. I think that you should give yourself some negative feedback. The customer is not always right. You were not right. He had every reason in the world to want to end all contact with you.

You made this query after he had asked if negative feedback should have been left for the comms... I don't believe that it should but some would.... I have only ever left negative feedback myself once, and that was because I got bumped big time - lesson learned.

I was merely pointing out that I felt that was a bit harsh to come and say that... i.e the bold bit above... I work in a customer service based role in technical support, and although we don't like some of our customers, that is no reason to ever warrant cutting off contact, unless they were downright nasty people.. which I don't think we have in this case.. again, I appreciate we have one side of the the story, but I would taken his side due to the politeness of the post etc... if he'd have ranted and sworn etc, then no-one would have had any sympathy.

I didn't mean to have a dig about the number of posts you had.. not intended to come out that way. Anyway, this is way off topic now...

:)

Oli-
We try to give everybody the benefit of the doubt around here.
I am glad that you decided to spend some time learning here. It is a wealth of info and knowledge. As several very wise people have told me before when you walk in to learn don't speak for a while just listen. You will notice that i have been here almost since the beginning but i have very few posts. So my advice is
A.) listen
B.) chill out a little and listen, when you have something constructive to say jump in but watch your tone written communication is very hard to read sometimes

Threeworlds-
sorry for the hijack. Glad everything worked out for you. I would write this one off as a lesson both in checking things out before getting to frustrated (and I understand why you were, most of us have been there at some point) and would probably just decide not to do business with someone who doesn't want to communicate. Lifes to short to get to worked up. Enjoy your knife and go cut something other than yourself :D
