An Even Smaller Spyderco Flipper ...

Who else out there would love another flipper option from Spyderco? I particularly would love a <3" version with slim lines and easy concealed carry potential. A gentleman's flipper, if you will.

Premium materials would be great. Bearings, too. Flipper Air, for example (but with a stainless super steel)?

An exact 3" blade Southard (same great CTS-204P blade) with CF/G10 scale or all titanium made at the Taichung factory.

I personally don't crave a 3” flipper but if I had to have one, another Southard design would be my preference.

Have you guys seen the Brous Bionic????

I have a orange one on the way :)

Looks like a nice knife and probably great quality. I'm not a huge fan of the scales--they look too Alien (as in the movie) to me, but of course that's purely subjective.

Looks like a very good value.

^^^This for sure. I think the Southard is as close to perfect as it can get right now, I've never wished it to be smaller. However, as the Griptilian has a baby brother that is a great knife, I'm sure that a 3" Southard would be just as popular.

I like the "mini-southard" idea, I would own that knife for sure, everything else the same just shrink it down.

What I'd really like to see, and what might actually get me interested in one, is a flipper with both scales made out of the same material- be it CF, G10, Ti, I just don't like how neither flipper currently offered has identical scales from one side to the other.

I agree with what you're saying, but that's tough with a frame-lock knife. It would be closer to a liner-lock if both sides had similar scales, except of course if both sides were metal, i.e. titanium, stainless, etc.

Or a collaboration with Curtiss? The Cruze Mini could mix DNA with Spyderco and be awesome:
Edit--actually, on 2nd thought not likely since he's collaborating with Boker already.

There's ways to do it- I forget the exact knife but I've seen a [recent production higher end] knife with a (I believe) G10 or CF scale with a Ti lock bar- I believe it was either a ZT or a strider. Like you say tho it could easily be Ti on both sides, as long as both sides are the same I'm cool with that.

BTW I see your wtb there, you have excelent taste sir, the 480-1 is my [reasonable] grail.

You might be thinking of the ZT 0777 which has CF scales and a Ti lock bar.

I would like to see a 3" PPT like flipper in M390 (CTS-204P would be ok with me too) with CF scales.

Preferably 2.9 inches. Knife laws aren't always clear of whether is the 3 inches legal maximum or whether blade needs to be below 3 inches.

A domino with a sub 3" blade and sub 4" closed length would be amazing. I love the forward choil on smaller knives.

Hopefully Sal's observing this thread. Seems that a mini Southard is a popular proposition! I'd buy one.
