An excellent motor source

I had a rough week last week and messed up when I ordered two new motors.

I made the order on Ebay from PTJ Industrial/hodgepdg527. I ordered on the 29th and they were delivered on the 30th (first shock) secondly they were USA made Leesons (I did not expect this based on the price). I realized my mistake and contacted Jeff at PTJ about my dilemma; He called me back and even prior to me sending back the two motors he shipped the correct to my home! He also made arrangements for me to drop off the incorrect motors at the warehouse thus saving me shipping costs (I was going to be in the neighborhood)!

There always seems to be a thread about motors, sources, etc... I would definitely recommend this supplier after this experience.

Thanks for the info, David. I'm replying to subscribe, and also ask if you bought 1 or 3 phase motors. I'm gonna guess 3ph, one of them for that GIB with a controller?

Both 3 phase, I am going to run both from one VFD as we discussed. I am using a number of components not normally used to make the switching bulletproof (eliminate human error). When I'm done I will post a schematic.

That switch idea has me excited. I hope when you are done you post pics along with that schematic.

I would also be interested in the schematic and a picture or two. Sounds like a great set up.
Thanks

David, HUGE thanks on the heads up on Jeff. I emailed him last night at 11pm and he has already gotten back to me.

He confirmed Leeson USA made motors for what I consider to be awesome deals. I'm going with a 3hp for my GIB!

I meant to bump this. I saved about 300 sourcing a motor similar to the one for the KMG 1.5 hp VFD package through him. He knows his stuff and is super willing to help.

Thanks David... I've been keeping an eye open for another 2hp motor to run off my VFD for a disc sander. I just bought one. ;)
I'm also interested to see what you come up with for switching off the VFD.
