I see pictures of CRK, Strider, high-end production, and Hinderer all the time.
I have never seen a picture of a beat-up/scratched/used one....
If I had one, I would use it non-stop all the time for everything.
So....
Is there any pictures of a high-dollar (+200) knife that shows wear?

I think a lot of folks snap pics when their knives are brand new, but I've seen lots o' high-end users on the Forums here. Keep in mind that many of the high-roller specials offer spa treatment as well... keeps those knives lookin' brand-spankin' new after years of use! :)

Oh, I know that. I even do that. But I was just wondering if anybody has a knife that shows wear, or has a picture, or could take a picture.
Even when the threads pop up that talk about their best beaters, or most used knife, I dont see these kind on there. Its more my curiosity than whether or not it happens. Im sure theres someone out there who batons and pries open car doors with their Hinderers. :D

Could be camera quality as well. I only use the camera on my BlackBerry and it isn't very good at close-up shots. In fact, I have to take at least half-dozen pics to get one that's half decent and even then the fine detail doesn't show! :D

Note to self: get a better camera!

I use my Umnumzaan and Sebenzas. Thing is for me, I don't use my knife to dig in the ground, pry open rusted paint cans, or take slices off a brick. I know what you mean though, a lot of folks seem to have minty fresh knives with no visible signs of use. While being concerned about lock up, sharpness, and other aspects of a knife that is to be used.

I've had a few. Nothing REALLY expensive though. I'll see if I can find some pics....

Edit
Not the most expensive knives, but here are a couple.

They're out there, there was a pic of a Scott Cook Lochsa in a thread a while back that was obviously used, and used hard, and that is a $1000+ knife...

Jdavis shows off his sebenza in his videos frequently. The knife is so well used that the handles look stonewashed

I would suggest that, at least some of the time, this is simply because a lot of the people who buy really expensive customs or mid-techs don't work for a living.

A lot, but not all, of the Sebenzas and Striders that people buy for 'user' knives or 'hard use' chores will never see any use outside of opening letters or cracking open a new package of printer toner, much less any actually 'hard use' chores. A lot of the 'user' sebenzas and striders I've seen posted have lots of gentle wear on the handle scales from being carried in a pocket, but almost ZERO visible wear or scratching on the blades - because they get carried a lot and used very rarely, or at least used for very gentle tasks.

Again, this is not to say that everyone who buys a Sebenza pushes pencils for a living, or that pushing pencils for a living is a bad thing. It would just explain the lack of Sebenzas that get used hard.

Pencil neck GEEKS, blood sucking freeks,

don't use their nice knives cuz they _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (someone finish this :D)

well, katanas, rapiers and sabers can be hundreds of years old and look un-used. but being users, they must have been wielded at one time, maybe split lengthwise a slave or two, just to test the cutting edge.

The knife in my avatar cost over 200 :p

The only folder I own that would cost over $200 is a 0560 that I use everyday. Doesn't really show much use, maybe a little at the tip, but that's about it.

Sebenzas in particular don't show too terribly much wear anyhow given their deeply stonewashed blades paired with the coarser Ti handles. They aren't pretty knives by any stretch and pretty utilitarian IMHO. Very plain.
