An idea for a handle finish

i got an idea today that might be good for a finish on a wood or antler handle. Ok if i got some clear epoxy and thinned it with acetone then dipped the handle in it and maybe let it soak a minute then let it cure. i think this would seal it pretty well. anyways if you guys have any ideas or comments lets hear em. thanks
 
it makes your handle sticky for life. the finish i use on wood is to sand to 2500 grt. than paste wax and buff, if i want to darken the wood i use boiled linseed oil. they look beautiful when finished.
