An idea for a keychain blade I came up with

The blade is a small scrap of an old handsaw blade I've been making random things out of, and the guard is a small scrap of aluminum.
It's extremely thin and lightweight, and if I was going to put a blade of any kind on my keys this is the kind of thing I would put on them.

I was just bored and don't have much use for such a thing, so I'll either put it in one of my toolboxes and use it to cut tape, or give it to my cousin or something.

I like it but it needs some Micarta or CF scales on there! Maybe some timascus? :p

Seriously though, cool idea.

I can see potential is this thing, but I'm not the one to do it.
Maybe some knife maker will see this and run with it.

I may try to make another one that's a little better, but I'll just have to see what I come up with.

Good idea for a stand alone, light blade. I know KeyBar has a couple blade attachments for their system that can work surprisingly well in a pinch.

I made another and went a different direction with this one.

Obviously folding razor blades already exist, and the first one would just be an inferior choice to one of those.
However I realized if I made something smaller it would be a great clambshell package opener.
I may be the only one who feels unsafe cutting one open with a regular knife, but I've tested this thing out and it works great.
I'll put this one my keys and it will definitely get used.[/url]

Great idea and I'm glad you like playing around with such things. I just buy mine already made... ;) Needs to be pointy-er for clamshell packaging. One of the reasons why I didn't care much for the GEC #71 (Bull Nose).

I've tested it and found it perfect.
