An idea for a keychain blade I came up with

I’d just get a Vic classic for the keychain. Much better fit and finish, inexpensive, light, small selection of tools. Even has a toothpick and won’t open accidentally in the pocket.

And more than 1/4 inch of usable blade length! And a nail file!

Powerful tool. Probably the most bang per inch in the knife world.

A P-38 can tear things but this is an actual blade, and I think something like this is better.
it will open cans also boxes and small tasks a blade that size does.......I carry and use one on my keychain and a spyderco keychain knife for bigger tasks....15301113636846195546540805786985.jpg

You asked, so I will answer : the blade is too wide (compared to the length), the cutting edge is too short (compared to the available length) and... such a short blade would be way more efficient with a full flat grind. Just my two pences...

I own 3, but will only carry them loose in pocket.
They see use multiple times everyday and to have the annoying jingle every time I take it out on top of having to detatch it before I use it ( even with something quick ) would get old real quick.

With this thing I've only got a clambshell package to open every once in a while.

Well that's what happens when you totally wing it
I saw a small scrap on the bench and ended up with this.
Had I actually planned it or something I could have had a better result.

I think the ladybug has the keychain market cornered, I've yet to see anything as small and useful (and strong). I like the simplicity of your idea in any case : )

I like the ladybug and have wanted one, but again for me a real knife just can't go on my keys.
Any cutting tool I might use more than once every month or so won't be going on my keys.

I like it. If it's going to on your key chain it's going to get beat up. It should ugly, strong, and sharp. No pretty knives need apply.
Right now I have an SAK Classic on both sets of my keys.
