What do you guys think of getting together a thread of our forge pictures and builds threads as a sticky so that people would be able to find them easily and perhaps save them the trouble of asking a question that has perhaps already been answered?

Sounds like a good idea to me. Perhaps include burner builds also.

Maybe include information with each forge like:
fuel use in gallons/pounds of fuel per hour for normal work and welding
interior dimensions (propane and oil forges)/ dimensions of the fire box (coal)
issues with your forge
ect. ?

That would be a big help. That's probably the biggest information gap on our sticky. Also maybe a list of some of the least biased steel info? It may be included under some of the large link lists, but steel questions get asked alot.

Let's start the new thread, and then start posting pictures and descriptions about the forges and builds of each forge, burner type and fuel used, stuff like that.

How about a sticky for grinders? I see the same questions popping up what seems like a few times a week...

Cheers Rody

Thats a great idea. I'm thinking about trying my hand at knifemaking and would love to see everyones setup.

Dan updates the sticky all the time with new info. We've been through this a multitude
of times. Final concensus always seems to side with keeping the page fairly clean with minimal stickies.

Starting a thread on forges and grinders is a good idea. Dan can post a link to them so you get a nice handy link to thread and its get's updated by you guys posting to the thread.

no problem doing that,, just remember if I don't see the thread please somebody point me to it so I can add the link..

I've been a little occupied with some roof problems as of the last few days to keep up with things here for a short while at least, but if the thread/s is/are with good info , not a problem ..

also there is my personal link in the sticked thread above
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=452465
this link
http://www.knivesby.com/knifemaking.html
which has 8 links to/for forges
and I'm sure a bunch more info you all can use.. it's there to use..

come on guys, where's that new forge thread to add ? for a suggestion
you could, who ever starts it, can add all the links you want to the first post as the thread rolls on..
