An interesting two days

Stabber,
The knife in the pictures is the first Bowie. The other 3 will look much the same.

Armin,
I can only hope they get things right. I sent the Producer a detailed description of the complete procedure, in order since some of the filming was done out of sequence. Hopefully that will help.

Kevin Wilkins,
They told me that Galileo had done knife spots before and they wanted to keep this one focused on the Bowie knife as an American design. Glad to hear you are getting orders from the show. Hopefully I’ll get a few too. This might be different in regard to my being able to use it. The Producer I worked with owns the production company that will produce the show. Then he will sell it to Galileo. Hopefully that will give him the distribution rights. Originally I was contacted by the folks at Galileo. They were going to come here to do the filming but because of the cost to travel that far they hired an American based, German owned Production Company. I’ll have to wait and see how it all works out.

ddd,
Only if we can pull them off the digital DVD.

Daniel

Daniel, I'm sure you will get orders from the show! They have an average of 1.5 million viewers per episode and it airs early evening when a lot of people are at home waiting for the evening news and their supper to be ready! :-) Make sure they include a refernce to your website!

The rights to the episode will be controlled by the network that owns Pro7 which is a big media conglomerate like ABC or NBC. Did you sign a contract with anyone before filming began? The only usage or broadcast rights you will have are the ones you receive IN WRITING from the network. I can only most strongly urge you to not broadcast or use anything from the episode without getting written permission from the network first. They are a very big company with a lot of lawyers...

Sounds like this was one of them. Had to follow through. Doesn't sound like they appreciated it that much, though. Whenever I've been invited into a bladesmith's shop, I've had a feeling of respect and priveledge for being there. I'm with Karen on it.

About the 140 degrees, be careful with that. You can pass out, smash your head, burn your arm, whatever. I've been in 140 degree cockpits many times. My policy is 10 minutes and then something has to change. Immediately. In fact, the last time was about two months ago at RDU (Raleigh), Waiting forever to push off the gate, bad AC system, had to route air to passengers, sun coming through that glass, ground crew on the intercom speaking german..............

Good job,

Pete
