An introduction if you will.....

I have a funny habit of not introducing myself to people as I assume they don't care anyway. But what I find in these forums, in particular the traditional forum is a lot of respectful and respectable interaction. This is something I have really grown to appreciate. As such I'd like to introduce myself as a life long knife user and a relatively new collector (under a year). I was once a bartender in Manhattan for about six years. I really love to know the history of things and whisky was my muse for quite a long time. There is a lot of history on alcohol. I've been sober now for eight years this month and have finally found an interest that holds just as much rich and interesting history in traditional folding knives. So thanks for putting up with me so far.
I know you guys like pics so here is a couple of a Queen peanut I found today in some things I inherited from my grandpa after he passed.
I believe the scales are derlin and yes there are halfstops.

immolatus - A warm and friendly welcome, I kinda think you may like it here. Like S-K said, thanks for the welcome, and by the way congrats on your 8 years - that's a great feat!
What have you been collecting in this past year?

Welcome aboard :)

Congratz on that great looking Queen. It´s a fine society of gentlemen here.

Welcome from the Outer Hebrides! Traditional pocket knives and whisky. Life doesn't get much better than that! Welcome to the porch!

Welcome to this very friendly place, I share similar occupation with you, serving as bar tender for about 5 years or so when I was a bit younger. The world of traditional slip joints is very interesting whether you like modern or vintage.

Welcome to the most refined, elegant, upper end of the sub forums, we judge you by the quality of knife you carry......

Nah just kidding, were more like an old timey bunch of country folk sittin' in some rockers on the porch offering up opinions on everything from knives to wives. ;)

These are a really great bunch of gentlemen that reside here who are not only friendly and knowledgeable but also very entertaining, it's a great place to take a load of and just enjoy the community.

Again, welcome and enjoy.

Welcome! Great bunch of guys here and you'll fit right in. Everyone has been very helpful answering my questions. Although I've found that they are a bunch of enablers, much to the detriment of my checkbook. :)

As Ted mentioned, welcome to the front porch! This is a friendly place to show off and discuss the sharp things we all like to carry.

Congrats on your sobriety and your choice of forums! Sit a spell, but jump right into the discussions-- we need a fresh viewpoint from time to time. ;)

Some may consider us as outlaws, but down deep, we're good folk, might ride our bikes different than most ;)

And major congrats, 8 years sober is very telling, good to hear sir and as others have said, welcome!
